THE PADUA-BASED RACER HAS BEEN ENGAGED TO REPLACE SAINZ JR. IN THE NEXT SERIES ROUND AT THE RED BULL RING
Riccardo Agostini will officially enter the World Series F.Renault 3.5 next weekend, at the Austrian Red Bull Ring track.
The Padua-based racer has been engaged by Zeta Corse to replace Carlos Sainz Jr., who finished sixth at Monaco, one of the drivers that will be present at Silverstone in the F1 rookie test this week driving the Red Bull and Toro Rosso.
Agostini, who already tested the F.Renault 3.5 at Motorland Aragon last November, where he scored the second best lap at the end of Day 1 just behind Kevin Magnussen - he also present in the Silverstone rookie test - will join in the Claudio Corradinis team the Briton Will Buller, fifht in the previous round in Moscow.
To join F.Renault 3.5 represents an extraordinary opportunity for Agostini, who aims to continue a program in the series a step behind F1 together with the GP2.
The Italian driver will debut in the World Series on the same track where he claimed a double pole and win last year in F3, taking a ticket to the 2012 Italian title.
Both the Red Bull Ring F.Renault 3.5 races will be broadcasted live on Eurosport. The first will start on Saturday at 14.30 after Q1. Race 2 will be held on Sunday at the same time, after the Q2 morning session.
