With the hangover from Le Mans finally clearing up live endurance racing is at the centre of Motors TVs schedules once more, with two long-distance contests to enjoy on each side of the Atlantic this weekend.
On Saturday the European Le Mans Series resumes at Austria's Red Bull Ring and we're live from start to finish as the title battle begins to take shape. Reigning champions Thiriet by TDS Racing head the top-tier LMP2 standings, but theres little to choose between the French squad and chief rivals Race Performance, Signatech and Jota Sport.
On Sunday we take a transatlantic trip for full live coverage of the American Le Mans Series event at Canadian venue Mosport where the championship reaches its halfway mark. As has become standard in the series the GT category is proving the most competitive this season, with BMW racer Dirk Mller currently holding a slender advantage over Corvette duo Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia.
After the chequered flag drops in Ontario we leave Canada and head due south to begin our live coverage of the NASCAR Nationwide Series from Chicagoland Speedway. The 2013 title tussle is one of the closest in years, with Regan Smith leading a five-strong pack hunting the coveted crown. Expect another fierce battle at the 1.5-mile tri-oval.
Sunday also sees live coverage of the Superstars Series' trip to Portimao. A double win last time out in Belgium has propelled Gianni Morbidelli back into championship contention, but the ex-grand prix driver still needs to catch Thomas Biagi, while also fending off the pursuing Giovanni Berton and Tonio Liuzzi, if he is to take a fourth series crown.
And if thats not enough weve also got highlights of the popular V8 Utes series from Hidden Valley Raceway, the AMA Superbike/Sportbike packages Mid-Ohio event and Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup action from Germanys Norisring. It all adds up to another bumper weekend on the High Speed Television Channel.
