Charlie Robertson aiming to get back on winning F4 trail at Brands

Erstwhile leader of the BRDC Formula 4 Championship Charlie Robertson wants nothing less than a return to the top of the points standings next weekend, 27th/28th July, as the category revisits his home venue, Brands Hatch, for rounds 13, 14 and 15 of the season.Driving for HHC Motorsport, the 16-year-old single-seater rookie from Whyteleafe has been a true revelation thus far in F4 and goes into the fifth race meeting of the 2013 season on the Kent venues full Grand Prix Circuit with one victory and four other podiums to his credit.Although delivering expectedly rapid pace at Oulton Park a fortnight ago, Charlies potential points haul was impacted by an unfortunate clash in the opening race and, prior to that in qualifying, a frightening electrical fire in the cockpit of his car.

Thankfully, with the teenager able to rapidly locate a trackside marshal with an extinguisher, the small fire was quickly put out. The incident did, though, set the scene for a less than straightforward weekend which culminated with a slip to fourth in the standings, despite taking third in race three.Obviously disappointed and frustrated in equal measure with the Oulton Park weekend as a whole, Charlie is determined to make up the lost ground as Formula 4 returns to Brands Hatchparticularly having been in dominant form when the championship visited the shorter Indy Circuit back in May.Claiming his maiden single-seater victory on the 1.2-mile track, the Investigo-backed driver also finished on the podium in all three races and was awarded the BRM Rapide Award for setting the fastest race lap of the weekend. While the demands of the Grand Prix configuration are altogether different to those of the Indy layout, MSA Academy racer Charlie is confident his HHC car will be as quick and competitive as it has been all season. Its going to be great being back at Brands, well have a lot of local support coming along and if we can have anything like the weekend we had when we were on the Indy Circuit Ill be delighted, said the 2012 Ginetta Junior Champion, Oulton Park was very disappointing in the end, we had the pace for three strong results there but it wasnt to be unfortunately for reasons out of our control.Everyone at HHC is hungry to be back on the top step of the podium and thats what Im aiming for next weekend. More than that though, we need to score as heavily as we can to move back up the championship. We lost a lot of points at Oulton but Im sure we can turn that around at Brands.Following free practice at Brands Hatch GP Circuit on Saturday, 27th July, qualifying will get underway at 11.50 with round 13 set to commence at 16.45. Rounds 14 and 15 are timetabled for Sunday, 28th July, at 10.45 and 14.50 respectively.Provisional 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship Standings (after Rd12):4th Charlie Robertson, 191pts
