Hungaroring locked in until
The Hungarian Grand Prix will remain on the Formula One calendar until at least 2021 after an extension was signed between the Hungarian authorities and Formula One Management (FOM) this weekend.Speaking at the 2013 edition of the race this weekend, FOM chief executive Bernie Ecclestone confirmed that the Hungaroring circuit's deal had been extended by six years from 2016 to 2021.No financial details have been released, but it is safe to assume that Hungarian authorities, while paying a multi-million dollar amount, will have been charged a lower rate than the newer races on the Formula One calendar.The Hungarian Grand Prix is one of the mainstays on the Formula One calendar. Run annually since 1986, only Monaco and Monza have enjoyed longer, uninterrupted spells on the Formula One calendar.
