Racecar client Double R Aims To Continue Winning F3 Momentum At Brands

Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit, Double R Racings home track, will host rounds seven, eight and nine of the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series next weekend, 10th/11th August, where the front-running team aims to continue its fantastic winning momentum.Claiming victories during the first two events of the British F3 campaign with rapid Italian rookie Antonio Giovinazzi, one at Silverstone and another at Belgiums Spa-Francorchamps last weekend, the Woking squad is determined to make another visit to the top step of the rostrum on home soil.Ahead of the three Brands Hatch rounds Giovinazzi is an excellent third in the championship standings and only three points shy of the runner-up spot, having scored heavily in each of the six races contested so far.British F3s youngest competitor, 16-year-old Sean Gelael, is fourth in the title race for Double R with an impressive tally of three podiums to his credit. Starring at Silverstone during the season-opening event with two rostrum visits, the Indonesian added another top-three finish during the first of the Spa encounters.Colombias Tatiana Calderon, also in her first season in the British championship, makes it all three Double R team-mates in the top five and is just eight points shy of Gelael. Although yet to secure her maiden podium, the 20-year-old has a best finish of fourth place and, like fellow Dallara-Mercedes drivers Giovinazzi and Gelael, has scored strongly in every round so far.Were really looking forward to being back at Brands and especially on the Grand Prix track, its a great circuit and a real test for the drivers, said team principal Anthony Boyo Hieatt, Antonio has had a great run so far in British F3, he definitely has the pace to take another win next weekend and Sean and Tatiana are both capable of being on the podium.Combining British F3 with our [FIA Formula 3] European Championship campaign is certainly paying dividends, even though the two categories run on a different tyre the extra experience and seat time in the car has been vital for all three drivers. Their progress has been clear to see, were all aiming for another strong weekend at Brands.Although next weekends action will be the first for the Double R trio on the full Grand Prix Circuit, they did run on the shorter Indy Circuit layout when the FIA Formula 3 European Championship visited the Kent venue in Mayan event where Giovinazzi secured the teams first series points.Qualifying for rounds seven, eight and nine of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series is scheduled to get underway at 11.15 on Saturday, 10th August, with the opening race of the weekend beginning at 14.55.
