Turkington to line-up at Donington Park Superstars with Scuderia Giudici

31-YEAR-OLD BTCC STAR TO DRIVE A BMW M3 RACECAR

After last year's positive experience with Tom Onslow-Cole, another guest star from the UK will join the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES at Donington Park, as Ulsterman Colin Turkington is set to enter the British event on a BMW M3 racecar on the 1st of September. In addition to being a fan favourite, Turkington is one of the most renowned stars of the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) where he's currently standing in 5th place behind the wheel of an eBay Motors  BMW 125i M Sport. The 31-year-old racer has a remarkable roll of honour in touring car competition, as he won back-to-back titles in the BTCC Championship in 2009 and Independent Drivers' Championship in 2007 and 2008. He entered 233 races in the series so far with 22 wins and 69 podium finishes and his SUPERSTARS debut with a Team Giudici-prepared BMW M3 is definitely set to become a big hit for the local racing fans.

"I'm really curious to line-up for this SUPERSTARS race - said Turkington - I've always been fascinated by the series and I'm confident I'll be able to take full advantage of my car's potential. Even though I know the track really well, the races will be quite demanding. The general level of the championship is pretty high with drivers like Liuzzi and Morbidelli, and I'm looking forward to rejoin Giovanardi as I already raced against him in the BTCC".

"We are happy to have Colin use this opportunity to compete in the SUPERSTARS Race of Donington - said WSR Team Principal Dick Bennetts - It will be quite a tough challenge for Colin, as he will be straight into free practice without testing the car, however Im sure hell cope.  Driving the powerful BMW M3 may help him in his BTCC efforts and the strong field of drivers will surely keep him honest".
