Round 7: Crimson Dynamo Autotest, 4 August

Richard Pinkney took his fifth win of the year at the Owen Motor Club Crimson Dynamo Autotest in Birmingham, although heavy rain stopped play after 11 of the 12 planned tests.

Lee Valentine secured his best result of the year in second overall, while championship leader Paul Fobister went well in the Haigh Special; he actually tied with Valentine on total time but lost out in the first test tie breaker, having been four tenths slower.

As the championship heads into the final round Fobister holds a seven-point lead over Pinkney and Dave Evans, who are tied for second. With Fobister and Evans now dropping scores, Pinkney only requires another 14 points to guarantee this years title.
