Halsall Racing Heralds New Era At Oulton Park BSB

The Bolton-based Halsall Racing Kawasaki team is preparing for its first outing as a two-rider outfit as round seven of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship heads to Oulton Park this weekend, August 9-11, 2013.

New signing Tommy Bridewell, from Devizes in Wiltshire, will make his racing debut for the team as he joins Lee Costello for the triple-header event at the Cheshire circuit.

Bridewell, who scored two fifth places when the series last visited Oulton Park in May, has yet to have any testing on the bike so Friday's first free practice session will be his first outing on his new Halsall Racing Kawasaki ZX-10R.

Meanwhile, Bolton-based Costello is looking forward to returning to his home track and following recent good results, has his eyes firmly on the top ten this time out.

Tommy Bridewell:  "I'm definitely looking forward to getting back out there; it's been too long of a break for me so I'm raring to go now. Obviously I've not had the chance to test because the team has been working so hard getting the bike ready and it just hasn't been possible. It means that on Friday it will be all about just making sure it all works well and then I think we'll just take it from there. I like Oulton Park but it is a tricky circuit, so I almost need to be able to run before I can walk but I'm confident we can make steady progress. I'm looking forward to helping Lee also and hope he can benefit from my BSB experience."

Lee Costello:  "This weekend what I'm looking for is to be finishing in the top ten. My results have been getting closer and closer; at Brands Hatch I was 12th in the first race and then in the second I was running very well until I crashed so I think a 10th would be a great result. We've really just got the bike working properly and with this being one of my favourite tracks on the calendar, I think we're in a very strong place for some good results this weekend. I'm looking forward to working with Tommy. It means we can share data and information which will all work towards getting us closer to the front for the remainder of the 2013 season."

Team owner Martin Halsall:  "I'm really looking forward to Oulton Park and running a two rider team for the first time. This is where we always wanted to be, we have never wanted to be just a small team and now we're about to embark on a very exciting second half of the season. Naturally Tommy will need some time to get used to the bike but I believe with his confidence and experience he can help the team and Lee progress as we move forward. We are all looking forward to getting back on track at Oulton Park and hopefully we can start pulling in the results we want as we look towards the rest of the season."
