Michela Cerruti joins MLR71 for Auto GP debut

Michela Cerruti will be making her Auto GP debut for the MLR71 team at the Nrburgring in the next round of the 2013 season. At the world-famous German venue, where she already raced in Formula 3, she will be partnering team owner Michele La Rosa after a 2-day test last month at Vallelunga. As the results proved impressive for both parties, Michela and MLR71 decided to join forces for the final part of the season. Michela follows in the footsteps of Natacha Gachnang and Pippa Mann, who had previously brought some female driving power to Auto GP.

Michela CerrutiI'm happy to have reached an agreement with Auto GP and MLR71 to enter the closing stint of the 2013 season. I drove this car for a test at Vallelunga and it was a great feeling for me. Having 550 horsepower behind your back is one exciting and impressing experience. It's the most powerful open-wheel car I have ever driven. The jump from the old GP3 and Formula 3 might be considerable, but I'm sure I will be able to adapt in time and compete at my full potential.Enzo ColoniI'm happy to welcome Michela Cerruti to the Auto GP family. Having a competitive female racer like she is will provide us with a great mutual benchmark. Michela already had the chance to drive an Auto GP car at Vallelunga and showed great enthusiasm especially for the high power output.
