Comtec Racing to enter Auto GP 2013

Auto GP has announced the arrival of a new team in the series from the next round, scheduled for the 18th of August at the Nurburgring. The Coloni-promoted championship will welcome Comtec Racing, a British-based squad founded in 2002. The team has so far raced in the Formula Renault 3.5 championship where they won the 2006 drivers' title with Alx Danielsson. In the last few months, Comtec Racing and Virtuosi UK formed a partnership to help young drivers to grow up as sportsmen and that collaboration will reach its next step with the debut of Comtec in a 2-week time. The two teams will provide each other with mutual support, on this occasion, the team will be fielded as Comtec Virtuosi. Their 550 horsepower racecar will be driven by Antonio La Rocca, a young Venezuelan driver born on the 9th of July, 1991. The Caracas-born man is a frontrunner in the European Formula 3 Open and has also won the F2000 Championship Series.Enzo ColoniI'm happy and proud to welcome a top team like Comtec to the Auto GP family. When rumors about the interest from UK teams like Fortec and Comtec arised last month, somebody was skeptical, but the arrival of Roberto La Rocca at the Nurburgring proves how hard the Auto GP is working to offer a competitive and low-cost package compared to the competitors. The debut of La Rocca will be interesting because he is a rookie, stepping up from Formula 3 to 550-horsepower car. I'm sure that, with the support of Comtec Virtuosi, he will adapt really quickly.
