WORLD Under-21 Final wild card Adam Ellis says racing against the sports top youngsters at Berwick on Saturday will prove to be an invaluable experience.Ipswich and Isle of Wight star Ellis, 17, is keen to test himself in round two of the series as he continues to make rapid progress in his first full season of competition.He said: Im definitely pleased to get one of the wild cardsI really didnt expect it, and its a nice surprise for me. Im still in the very early stages of my career and Im not as experienced as most of the riders in the meeting, so Ill just make the most of the experience and try to learn as much as possible from it.

SWINDON got the better of Elite League title rivals Birmingham with a stylish 52-40 win at the Abbey Stadium.Peter Kildemand and Troy Batchelor both scored 12-points for the Robins, who can overhaul the Brummies at the top of the table with an away win by more than four points at Peterborough on Friday. Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: We're very pleased with that performance - I knew with all our top five back we would be in with a good shout.I was quietly confident because I know what our top five are capable of, and it was a very good performance from everyone in the end to get a good win.

SHEFFIELD boss David Hoggart hailed young reserve Facundo Albin as the Argentine inspired Sheffield to a win over bottom club Glasgow.Albin enjoyed his best night in British speedway as he weighed in with paid-12 points, one of five home riders to hit double-figures in the 53-37 victory.Hoggart said: We placed a lot of faith in Facu at the start of the season and tonight we saw why, he was terrific.Hes had a few knocks but hes never given up, hes an absolute trier and he got his reward. Even when he drew a last, he was on the back wheel of the guy in front and he deserved all of his points, its an absolute dream to see him get his first double-points haul.(SPEEDWAY 4)

SCUNTHORPE are still searching for an elusive first away win of the Premier League seasonbut they did take a point form their trip to new leaders Redcar on Thursday.The Scorpions pegged back a ten-point deficit to force a last-heat decider, Thomas Jorgensen having won a tactical ride, but maximum man Aaron Summers led a Bears 4-2 in Heat 15 as they took a 49-44 victory.Scunthorpe boss Dave Peet said: We put in another good, battling performance. We gave it our best shot and we got a point of it.Ryan Douglas is doing so well now. We always knew he had the talent, but we werent sure quite why he was struggling. We worked out what it is when we were away at Berwick. Ryan has now changed his backroom staff and hes kicking on. Were seeing the true Ryan Douglas.

DANNY King is set to celebrate his ten years in British Speedway with a Testimonial meeting at Birmingham on Sunday evening.A four-team tournament between Select sides from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Peterborough planned with the likes of Hans Andersen, Troy Batchelor, Kenneth Bjerre and Scott Nicholls amongst the star visiting riders.King said: Its been a lot of work and planning but Im glad the line-up is finally sorted and Im looking forward to Sunday now.I think its definitely going to be a competitive meeting, and with the way Ive split the teams I think it will certainly be tight as well. Fingers crossed now that everything goes to plan on the day and everyone enjoys the meeting.
