After taking the second step of the podium at the Czech Grand Prix last weekend, Rockstar Energy Suzuki's Kevin Strijbos raced towards another podium at the Belgian Championship in Balen on Sunday.
Kevin showed his good form straight away in the qualifying race, where he took the holeshot and led the race from start to finish. A confident Strijbos managed to round the first corner ahead of the pack in the first heat and lead the first part of the race, until recently-crowned World MX2 Champion Jeffrey Herlings managed to pass.
The second heat saw a similar series of events - with another holeshot for the 28-year-old Belgian on the works Suzuki, creating a gap on the rest of the pack together with Herlings. Fellow Belgian Ken De Dycker ended third in both races.
Strijbos currently holds third position in the championship ranking behind Ken De Dycker and Shaun Simpson, after missing one of the rounds when he entered the AMA National at Muddy Creek, earlier in the year.
Former World Champion Steve Ramon was also aboard one of Rockstar Energy Suzukis and felt the effect of not riding for several weeks - suffering from arm-pump in the heavy sand - but finished in ninth position overall.
Next on the Calendar is the team's home Grand Prix, held at the south Belgian track "Sans Souci" in Bastogne this weekend.
