Narain Karthikeyan scores third straight AutoGP pole

Narain Karthikeyan (Super Nova Intarnational) is becoming the undisputed poleman of the Auto GP Series. The Indian racer scored his third straight pole position of the season at the Nyrburgring, where the series managed by Enzo Coloni has lined-up for round 6 of 2013. Karthikeyan topped the charts with a laptime of 1'18"330 in front of his team-mate Vittorio Ghirelli, who had cruised to an early lead in practice.

Opening row 2 will be Kevin Giovesi. The Ghinzani Motorsport driver is aiming for more podium finishes after accomplishing the job at Silverstone and Mugello, and edged Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss, at his first race for Ibiza Racing Team. Pal Kiss was followed by Ibiza's colleague Sergio Campana, who got the nod over his closest rival in standings, Kimiya Sato (Euronova Racing). The Japanese youngster was followed by Dutchman Meindert Van Buuren, running for MP Motorsport, and by Robert Visoiu (Ghinzani Motorsport).

Rounding out the top-10 in the fifth row will be MP Motorsport's Daniel De Jong and Virtuosi UK's Andrea Roda. As expected, the two rookies on-track in Germany had a tough time in taming the 550-hp Auto GP racecars. Roberto La Rocca (Comtec by Virtuosi) ended up in 12th with Michela Cerruti (MLR71) a couple of spots back. Race 1 will be taking-off tomorrow, Saturday August 17th, at 16:26. TV coverage will be provided by Eurosport with a delayed telecast on Sunday at 8:30. Race 2 will take-off shortly after, this time with live coverage.
