Samsung Honda set for home round at Cadwell Park

The Samsung Honda team is preparing for its home round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire this weekend, with the aim of claiming more silverware in front of the local crowd.

Lincolnshire-born Alex Lowes has already secured his position in the Showdown and is now on the hunt for podium credits as he attempts to close the gap between himself and the two riders ahead of him in the standings. Team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari still has his Showdown place to confirm, but two strong results this weekend could put him in a prime position to make it two Samsung Hondas in the three-round end of season battle.

In the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship, Jason O'Halloran is also aiming for podium finishes following his solid third place last time out at Oulton Park as he bids to close down the series leaders in the second half of the season.

Havier Beltran – team managerCadwell Park is always a big round for the entire Samsung Honda team and we’re always very fortunate to get a huge amount of support at our local track. The team has been working hard since Oulton Park as we continue to push forward ahead of the Showdown and both Alex and Kiyo are determined to have another strong weekend for the team. In the Supersport class, Jason had a fantastic performance at Oulton Park and hopefully that is the sign of things to come in the second half of the season.

Alex LowesThe goal for me was always to get into the Showdown at the earliest possible opportunity, so to tick that box was good. Now that we’ve that bit done I need to start upping my game and keep building our position in these final rounds so that we are ready for when we start the Showdown at Assen. If the races at Cadwell are anything like Oulton then it’s going to be some more close races and it will be awesome to be part of. I have good memories of Cadwell Park from last year as that is where I had my first podium finish and we need to have some strong results now, everyone is so close at the front that it is down to the riders to make it count.

Ryuichi KiyonariCadwell Park is like a home round to me and I want to have a good result in the races. I am excited about this weekend because we have a better feeling with the bike now and it is encouraging as we have been making a step up each weekend. Cadwell Park is a hard circuit but it is also a special track because it is almost a home circuit to me and we want to step up a bit more this weekend to try and get back on the podium.

Jason O’HalloranThis is the home race for the team and also for me as I live just down the road and it is one of my favourite rounds of the season. I was on the podium last year in the Superstock class and coming off the back of the podium at Oulton Park the goal is obviously to continue that, or if not go even better.
