Nick Percat sets the pace in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia

Coates Hire Racing's Nick Percat set the pace in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia’s sole Friday practice session at Winton Motor Raceway today.

Percat set his best time on a drying Winton track to beat rivals Steven Richards, Craig Baird, Warren Luff and Shae Davies who rounded out the top five.

Today's performance by Percat keeps in tact his outstanding Winton form where last year he won the Dunlop Series round for V8 Supercars.

After the session a delighted Percat said: "I am really happy with the way it went. I wasn't trying to set a blistering time, just concentrating on some key set up changes. We did three runs in the session, made all the changes we wanted to and got all the data, so it was a good session and everything ran faultlessly.

"I am really looking forward to tomorrow's qualifying and the first of the three races".

Percat also spent time behind the wheel of the Coates Hire supported Holden Racing Team V8 Supercar. Run in atrociously wet conditions with several red flag stoppages, Percat finished well inside the top 10.
