One day Saloon Car Festival Heads to Rockingham

ADVANCE tickets are still on sale for next Saturday’s (September 7) one-day race meeting at Rockingham when the British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC) makes its second visit of the 2013 season.

As always motor racing fans are in for a real treat as the BRSCC brings variety to the circuit in the shape of its Saloon Car Festival, alongside a firm favourite with the Rockingham crowd - the Pickup Trucks Championship.

With our season-long “ticket for a tenner” promotion for all club race meetings, the BRSCC meeting is a great family day out at an affordable price with adult tickets just £10 in advance and free admission for children aged 16 and under.

Spectators are sure to be entertained with qualifying for six championships and ten races packed into just one day. All races will be on the 2.05-mile of the International Super Sportscar Long Circuit, with exception of the Pickup Trucks, which brings its own unique brand of racing to the UK’s only banked Oval and Europe’s fastest racing circuit.

The Pistonheads.com Caterham Academy introduces 56 new drivers into motorsport every season, with the championship split into two groups to accommodate the over-subscribed grid. Rockingham is only the third circuit they have experienced in their fledgling careers.

A powerful line-up of cars will assemble on the grid for the Dunlop TVR Challenge. Tuscans dominate in terms of numbers, but it is likely to be the Sagaris’ of Tim Hood, Darren Dowling and Danny Winstanley who will fight it out for podium honours at the head of the pack.

Another one-make series on show is the growing Production GTi Championship. Backed by Teekay Couplings, the championship caters for 16v and 8v variants of the VW Golf GTi. Simon Hill is the man they are all trying to catch.

Adding to the entertainment will be a double-header for the Tegiwa Civic Cup. After Rockingham there will be just two races left in the 2013 season, which is the inaugural year for the Civic Cup, so all the drivers will be out to impress.

All tickets include a free grandstand seat with a unique panoramic view of the entire circuit and access to the race paddock, allowing an exclusive insight into the hard work which goes on behind the scenes to keep the drivers and cars on track.

Rockingham prides itself on providing access to all motorsport fans, and those who are registered disabled can apply for a FREE* admission ticket for their carer.

Advance tickets can be booked online at www.rockingham.co.uk or via the hotline on 01536 500500, option1, until midday on Friday, September 6. Adult tickets will also be available on the day priced at £15, while children aged 16 and under get in free.
