The Venetian driver to complete the crew behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458 at Spa

Villorba Corse has announced an agreement with another Italian talent, the team from Treviso has hired Davide Rigon to partner Andrea Montermini behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458 GT2.

The agreement was ratified in collaboration with the Prancing Horse, for which Rigon tested the F138 F1 car at Silverstone last month. The Venetian driver from Thiene will complete the Villorba crew in the next GT Open round at Spa where Luca Filippi will not be present due to commitments as a TV commentator.

“It was important to continue on the path that has characterized our season to date - says Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal -, we tried to replace Filippi with another young and very fast driver. Davide is definitely a great choice. He has undoubted skills and speed. He can do pretty well with us. I saw him really motivated and happy. Hiring a driver who has been Superleaue Formula champion and GP2 runner and works directly for Ferrari makes us proud.”

“It will be an honor to race for Villorba Corse - says Rigon - and the collaboration has started well. It will be a big responsibility to take the place of Luca alongside Montermini at Spa. I will give my best.”
