Domenico Schiattarella back in SUPERSTARS International

FORMER F1 RACER RETURNS TO SOLARIS MOTORSPORT, AIMS FOR FULL-TIME RIDE IN 2014

After having made his comeback to the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES at Zolder, where he cruised to the top-10 straight away, Domenico Schiattarella will return behind the wheel of a Solaris Motorsport-prepared Chevrolet Lumina for the next three rounds at Donington (scheduled for this weekend), Imola and Vallelunga.

The former F1 driver, who also raced in the American Champ Car Series and in several GT and Sportscar championships, is ready for a 100% commitment in order to end the 2013 season on an high note. On the other hand, the aim is also set on 2014, when he will try to join the series' frontrunners.

"I'm flattered to be driving in SUPERSTARS once again. Both in terms of media package and international recognition, the series is a benchmark in motor sports. My goal is to start fighting for the top spots in order to be a top player in 2014 - said Schiattarella - together with Solaris Motorsport, we plan to field a second Camaro for the next season. Now we stay focused on Donington, where we want to be quick with our Lumina and fight at the front".

His team-mate Francesco Sini, one of the heads behind the "Camaro Project", is elated: “I'm extremely happy to have Mimmo in the team again. After Zolder, we spoke to each other quite often in order to plan our future together, as we were both satisfied with our work. I think he will be much more competitive than in Belgium because he knows the car now. Last year, here at Donington I ended up in 4th with the Lumina so I think it is well-suited on this track. Considering the improvements made on the Camaro, I hope that we will be both able to stay with the frontrunners all the time”.
