Accident Advice Solicitors supported rider Johnny Blackshaw had a very successful weekend at the Silverstone 200 race. A selection of British Superbike riders, Superstock 1000 and 600 riders took up the opportunity to race the Silverstone 200 race, in support of the British Moto GP. In front of thousands of people, the biggest GP crowd in years Johnny took two 13th places in the two scheduled races.
Having qualified in 13th place it was a consistent weekend for the youngster and he rode two very solid races to gain the positions he did. This also provided very essential track time for the main British Superstock race at Silverstone which will take place at the beginning of October.
Johnny Blackshaw - "Despite some initial set-up problems this was a great experience for our team and we placed ourselves and the Accident Advice Solicitors name in front of thousands of people. It really helped me get a base set up for when we go there in October and we used the track time as a good indication for what to expect when we come here next month.
I was really pleased with two 13th places in the races on Saturday and Sunday as the majority of people in front of me were either Superbike riders or they were on Superstock 1000 machines but using slick tyres. This was pointless for us as I wanted to know how my bike will feel on the set-up I will use when we come here next.
By the end of the weekend my times had come down and I felt really pleased with what we had managed to achieve in the time here. I'm looking forward to getting back here and seeing how I fair up against the main Superstock class.
It was a great experience and to even be in the same place at the Moto GP boys was just awesome, it was a mega weekend and lots of things were learnt. I am looking forward to getting to Donington this weekend and hopefully get some more points in the bag.
