Bradshaw the Form Man as Porsches Head to Oulton

The Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli visits the scenic Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire this coming Saturday, September 7th, with championship leader Tom Bradshaw aiming to add to his 2013 victory tally on his home circuit in the two 25-minute races. There will be no shortage of challengers to the racer who has won seven races outright so far this season, and the action should be close all the way down the 25-car plus field.

“Oulton Park is my favourite circuit and my local circuit,” said Bradshaw. “We’ll have a lot of friends and family there so it will be good to go well.”

Mark Sumpter was the last driver to beat Bradshaw’s Boxtser S, an inspired tyre choice at Silverstone in June seeing him drive through the field on a wet track. Sumpter’s 964 C2 usually goes well at Oulton, and with fast-starting team-mate Adrian Slater, should provide stiff opposition. Pete Morris is another who has been on the lead pace in his 996 C2, while Bradshaw’s team-mate Marcus Carniel lives in nearby Mobberley and will be determined to do well close to home.

Closest challenger in the points to Bradshaw has been the 968 CS of Class Two pace-setter John McCullagh, who only slipped behind after failing to lead his class home for the first time this season at Castle Combe last time out in a race reduced to three racing laps by incidents. Stuart Ings took the class win in his Boxster on that occasion and will be looking continue that form, while Mark Koeberle is second in the points in the class and eager to take his first win.

Qualifying is at 08.30 on Saturday morning, with the two races currently scheduled for 11.40 and 17.10.
