In the first race of the sixth GT Open round the Italian team clinched pole position, fastest lap and third place but then it was relegated in 14th because of a penalty under a caution. On Sunday, the Ferrari 458 of Montermini-Rigon will start race-2 from the front row again

In the sixth GT Open round at Spa, the great Saturday by Villorba Corse has been clouded by a penalty imposed to Montermini-Rigon under safety-car. The Villorba Ferrari 458 GT2 will race to take revenge tomorrow, Sunday, September 8, when it will start race-2 from the front row again.

In race-1 qualifying Andrea Montermini dominated the session setting a brilliant pole position. Then he lead the race from the start and also set the fastest lap. The wonderful ride of Villorba Corse was continued by Davide Rigon with a spectacular series of overtaking in the wet after it started to rain. Unfortunately the precious third place clinched by the team despite a very high handicap time to be paid in the pits (45 seconds) became a 14th position because of the penalty for driver change under safety-car.

Sunday's race-2, which now is so crucial for the championship (Villorba still leads in the standings) is to be held at 12:05 and will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV) and on TV channels Motors TV (Europe, at 12:05; 11:05 in the UK), RaiSport2 (Italy, at 12:05), Sport 1+ (Germany, at 12:00), Canal+ and Teledeporte RTVE (Spain, at 12:00), Sport TV (Portugal, at 11:05) and Sport TV (Turkey, at 13:05; Poland, deferred at 17).
