Podium for Joe Collier at Donington Superstock 600

Joe Collier racing on the Haribo Starmix Triumph had another good weekend at Donington Park and round ten of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship. He had a good weekend and finished in a strong third place behind Luke Hedger and Cal Cooper. The weather conditions on Friday at Donington were terrible and it put a stop to a lot of activity on track. With only one dry session it was important for Joe to put in a good time and he was able to place himself in fourth place and on the second row of the grid for the 14-lap race. He got a good start and was up to second but struggled with power against the leaders. Dropping back to fourth place he was eager to gain a podium at his home race.In the final few laps he was able to catch with Jordan Simpkin and made a solid pass on him into the Melbourne loop on the final lap and the pairing crossed the line side by side with Joe taking the final podium position by 0.008.Joe Collier - "That was a really tough race as I seem to be struggling on power compared to the other bikes in the race. I'm struggling to get the drive out of the corners to be able to stay with the front runners so I have to be brave on the brakes.I was catching with Jordan in the final few laps and I knew I could make a move but it had to be on the brakes. I managed to get past into the Loop but I knew he would have the drive to Goddards the final corner, I managed to keep it tight and we were locked in arms nearly as we crossed the line. He came and shook my hand at the end of the race and we had a really good battle on the last few corners.I'm really pleased with the podium finish as we've had a very up and down season so far. I'm happy with the result and hope it will continue for the rest of the remaining races."National Superstock 600 Dates
