Johnny Blackshaw Donington Park Review

Accident Advice Solicitors supported rider Johnny Blackshaw had another solid weekend at round ten of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Donington Park this weekend. After qualifying in 28th place he managed to work his way up to 19th setting some good race times in the progress. The weather was horrendous on Friday and the rain came down all day making the track extremely slippery after all the dry weather. Finding a set up in those conditions was difficult and the forecast was set to be good for the remainder of the weekend but also meant the Superstock classes missed out on vital track time. With only one dry qualifying session on the Saturday it was important to try and find a good set up quickly and with only a second covering the top 21 the times were extremely close.Johnny Blackshaw - "It was a bit of a mixed weekend really as with the rain on Friday this left us with little time to get fully sorted out for qualifying. I worked hard in qualifying but with the times so close if you messed up one corner you could lose half a second and several grid positions.I was looking forward to the race as Donington is one of my favourite circuits but I really messed up the start which sent me backwards into the opening few corners. I knew I had my work cut out at that point and knew I had to relax because I'd suffered from really bad arm pump during qualifying and I didn't want that to come back during the race.I settled down into a rhythm and concentrated on what I had to do my times were good and I managed to go half a second faster in the race than during my qualifying. We made some good progress and I wasn't far off the points at the end of the race. I must thank Richard Sangwin and his product Mad Form for helping prevent the arm pump so much during the race. I'm looking forward to the final two races of the year.Once again I must thank Dave, Dan, Cliffy and my Dad for all the hard work that they put in every weekend and obviously my sponsors who without them it wouldn't be possibly for me to race especially Tamara and Dave at Accident Advice Solicitors."2013 Johnny Blackshaw Personal SponsorsAccident Advice Solicitors - Forcefield Body Armour - SLP - Rock Oil - DP Brake Pads - Daytona
