14/15 SeptemberThe penultimate round of the 2013 European Le Mans Series comes live from the Hungaroring in France this Saturday where the Thiriet by TDS squad will be looking to extend their points lead. Two victories in as many rounds have helped the reigning champions establish a 17-point advantage over Signatech Alpine, while the likes of Jota Sport and Race Performance are also still in the title mix. We’ll also have delayed-as-live action from Down Under where the V8 Supercars are at Sandown Park for their first enduro event of the season. It’s no surprise to see perennial champion Jamie Whincup top of the standings as the campaign enters its home stretch, but he does face serious competition from FPR duo Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom, Red Bull Racing team-mate Craig Lowndes and a resurgent James Courtney – the last man to deny Whincup the crown in 2010. Each will be relying on their respective co-drivers for the 500km race, which features a host of international stars.Another week, another NASCAR Nationwide round, this time live from Chicago. It’s tight as you like at the top of the standings with Sam Hornish Jr, Austin Dillon, Regan Smith and Elliot Sadler covered by a measly 28 points. The smattering of Sprint Cup stars pulling Double Duty should make for a frantic affair. Delayed-as-live coverage of both Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup races from Oschersleben, as well as highlights of British GT’s trip to Zandvoort and the Maserati Trophy round at Sonoma, ensures there’s plenty to keep you occupied on the High Speed Television Channel this weekend.
