ALEXANDRE DEBANNE ON THE SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE 2014THE FRENCH TV PRESENTER WILL BE ON A CAN AM MAVERICK TO REALIZE A MOVIE BROADCASTED ON TV MOTORS

It's now confirmed, Frenchman Alexandre DEBANNE will participate to the 6th edition of the SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE. The TV presenter will be following the race on the African track at the wheel of a CAN-AM Maverick, the latest SSV model offered by the Canadian manufacturer. Just before going to Malaysia where he will finalize the preparation of the “Raid Amazon” which he organizes. Alex tells us a little more in detail:

"I will participate at the 2014 edition of the SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE, thanks to BRP France which will make available for me, a CAN-AM Maverick. It is always a big pleasure for me to be back in Africa and even more on Thierry Sabine’s footsteps. In the beginning I was supposed to race, but in the end I decided not to, here are the reasons why. First of all, the vehicle is very recent and new, and its not well prepared enough to race. In such a race, it would have been complicated to compete in these conditions. Second of all, my schedule is very tight, especially now, because I’m organizing the “Raid Amazon l’Arbre Vert" in the archipel of Langkawi in Malaysia. Therefore I will not have the appropriate preparation for such a harsh race. »

"But there was no way for me to miss this "rendez-vous", so we decided, along with the organizers, to come on the field anyhow and record a program which will be broadcasted on MOTORS TV and 40 other partner channels all over the world. I will thereby be taking my producer next to me in the CAN-AM Maverick, and we will follow the 11 stages of the race, filming the participants during the race but also on the bivouac. The idea of this whole thing is to show how intense is a Rally like this, unveal its backstage, and do a full-scale test of BRP's brand new SSV. We will benefit from the SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE production team as well, which will provide us with excellent videos and post production work! There is a big chance that we will be forced to do 2 programs !!! Anyhow, we are very motivated to be part of it and I can't wait to be at the end of December!!! »
