Alex Lynn takes two from two in GP3 feature races

Just as he did at the opening round in Spain, Alex Lynn won the feature GP3 Series race from pole position in Austria.

The Englishman also set fastest lap into the bargain, extending his lead of the drivers’ championship.

Alex made a clean start from pole, and overcame an early safety car to control his advantage all the way to the finish, winning the 18-lap race by a comfortable margin.

Making this win even sweeter was the fact that it was taken on home territory of his backer Red Bull, at the Red Bull Ring: the home of the Austrian Grand Prix.

“Seeing the amount of fans around, I feel really proud: I’ve got to thank Red Bull for this amazing opportunity,” said Alex. “They’re putting on an amazing weekend.”

The GP3 Series starts off tomorrow’s action at 09:25, with the second race of the weekend. Alex will start eighth on the grid, under the reversed grid rules (with the order of the top eight finishers from race one inverted).
