Successful GP3 debut for Agostini with Hilmer Motorsport

THE ITALIAN DRIVER AMONG THE TOP 10, FORCED TO RETIRE WITH A TECHNICAL PROBLEMThe new season began for Riccardo Agostini yesterday in Spielberg, where he was i under the spotlight in the GP3 Series round hosted in the same weekend of the Austrian F1 Grand Prix.

Agostini, having recently joined the German team Hilmer Motorsport,  immediately proved himself as one of the fastest at the Red Bull Ring.

Fifth during Friday’s free practice and 11th yesterday morning at the end of the qualifying session (with a gap of just 564 milliseconds from polesitter Alex Lynn), despite having just over 150 km drive with this car .

The young driver, the only Italian at the start,  maintained his position at the start. Later, because of safety-car following a collision between three vehicles, the race was yellow-flagged for an entire lap. A lap after the new start Agostini moved up to  tenth and kept fighting to improve his position until  forced to retire due to an electrical problem.

“We were expecting even better results. - commented Agostini - But this time we haven’t been very lucky. We have a good potential, this was clear when I was fighting for the top 10. It is definitely a good first approach to the category. "
