Halfway through the season and what a year it's been so far and culminating last weekend with some wonderful weather, great motorcycle racing, record crowds and the Red Arrows doing a Fly Past... what a showstopper...!!
Things are remaining aerial as we head into the latter part of June although at a slightly slower speed as we welcome hot air balloons to the circuit in the first ever mass ascent at Castle Combe! Around 25 balloons are already booked in BUT it's all subject to weather so get your suntan lotion and your sunhats on and do some sundancing please...!!!
What's On... this week!!Classic & Retro Action Day at Castle Combe Circuit
Reach for the Skies at the Classic & Retro Action DaySaturday 28th June
Castle Combe Circuit will be reaching for the skies this coming Saturday as it welcomes a selection of hot air balloons to the Classic and Retro Action Day!
The day includes... 100s of classic and retro cars (66 Owner's Clubs booked) • Vintage bus passenger rides of the circuit c/o the Bristol Vintage Bus Group • Cherished Vehicle Car Park • Full day of track action from slow parades to fast laps and more • Veteran Bicycle Display • Attwell Wilson Motor Museum Classic Car Display (including a 1911 Gregoire and they'll be raffling a 1968 Riley Elf... it could be yours by December...)! • Lunchtime Classic Cruise • Hot air balloon interactive and Q+A sessions (day) • Tethered hot air balloons (day) • Mass hot air balloon ascent at around 6.30pm and more!

Car Track Day, Monday 30th JuneNEW! Semi-Open Pit Lane format launches on Monday 30th June!The track will still operate in 15 minute sessions BUT drivers will no longer be allocated/tied to any specific session... you can join the queue for any session and at any time and go out in as many sessions as you like! The Family Day Parade (Sunday)For the last three years, the Bristol Motor Club has organised a summer Sunday for owners of sports & GT cars to join them for a family day out here at Castle Combe Circuit.The theme for 2014 is 'The Great British Sportscar' and the aim is to fill the paddock with a display of all ages and marques of sports and GT cars whether production, kit or replica!

And Finally...!
Final Notice...!There are major road works on the A350 between Junction 17 (M4) and Chippenham as the short section of road approaching Chippenham (by Morrisons) is made into a dual carriageway. Work has just started and is anticipated to run into 2015. Please bear in mind when travelling to the Circuit as there can be long tailbacks at peak times.Getting back to the M4 via the usual way is much less of an issue.
All looking good so... a gentle reminder to get sundancing for the Classic and Retro Action Day this Saturday please and fingers and toes crossed!
