R  ound 3: Summer Nationals, Santa Pod Raceway, 28-29 June

Holland’s David Vegter was in pole position among an-eight car field after two qualifying sessions at Santa Pod, where rain caused eliminations to be cancelled for the third consecutive round after two pairs had raced.

Vegter’s 6.372sec/221.33mph pass was followed by British racer Andy Robinson at 6.470/229.32.

New personal bests were recorded by Rick Garrett at 6.487/211.80 and Chris Isaacs at 6.925/ 209.85. Andy Robinson, constructor of Vegter’s car, took the championship lead from an absent Robert Joosten.
