Round 5: Tim Sargeant Memorial Autotest (Knutsford & DMC), 29 June

Paul Fobister, driving a Haigh Special, took his first FTD at an MSA Autotest round on the Tim Sargeant Memorial Autotest.

‘Fobby’ led from the first round of tests after reigning champion Richard Pinkney had a gearbox failure on the opening test of the day, picking up a wrong-test penalty.

Dave Evans also collected a pylon on the opening test and suffered gearbox damage on the last round, but hung on to second place after completing the final tests with a gaping hole and no oil in the ’box.
