Tutumlu hoping to get GT Open Championship back on track in Hungary

Isaac Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team are counting the hours to the next meeting of the International GT Open at the awesome Hungaroring.

Once again Tutumlu will drive the Chevrolet Corvette C6/ZR1 entered by Selleslagh Racing Team and shared with Belgium´s Maxime Soulet.

After a brilliant debut at the Autódromo do Algarve, where Tutumlu took a dominant race win on Saturday and finished third on Sunday, the event in Jerez disappointed as a result of a gearbox problem in race one.

“Thanks to efforts made by Selleslagh Racing Team and Corvette Racing our Chevrolet is now ready for Hungaroring. I know this track, as I participated in the Porsche Supercup there for three seasons. I like it, it has beautiful surroundings and Budapest is such a nice place to visit. To be honest, I have no idea how our Chevrolet will adapt at Hungaroring. But I think it´s more favorable for the Chevy than Jerez”, Tutumlu explains.

“Our handicap is much better here, so race wins can´t be excluded this time. Jerez was far from good but I have already forgotten that. Now we have to focus on Hungary and other race commitments ahead. We need to collect many points to keep fighting for the title in the International GT Open”.

The timetable for Hungaroring is slightly different, and there is track activity on Thursday as several test sessions take place on that day. As it usually happens two free practice sessions are scheduled on Friday. On Saturday, after both qualifying sessions in the morning, race one starts at 16.00 (CET). Finally on Sunday race two is due to start at 13.00 (CET).
