Riccardo Agostini had an excellent start at Spielberg, two weeks ago in the GP3 Series - with a new car, new tyres (Pirelli) and a new team (Hilmer Motorsport, Official GP3 Partner of Sahara Force India Formula 1 Team).
In Austria, Agostini started with a fourth best time during the Friday's qualifying, and despite the traffic on track during his main lap, he managed to score the 11th time at the end of the qualifying. During Race 1 he fought hard to gain a place among the frontrunners, but his efforts were thwarted because of an electric issue. He ended the weekend with a remarkable comeback in Race 2, climbing up the standings from the 21st position to finish 11th, just a step away from the top ten.
In short, even with just a bit more than 90 laps experience with this car (about 300 kms), Agostini has good chances to score another success this weekend at Silverstone.
“Silverstone is an historical track, which I particularly love, even if so far I haven’t achieved great results here. I raced here in 2013, during the Auto GP championship, and earlier this year, for the F3 European Series. But this time it’s different, as I am full of energies and expectations. I am positive because of the special feeling established between me and the team”. - Riccardo Agostini commented.
The Silverstone round will start tomorrow afternoon with the free practice at 5.50pm. The qualifying will take place on Saturday morning at 8.45, while in the afternoon, at 4.20pm, will be raced the first of the two races of the weekend. On Sunday, at 8.10am, the start of Race 2. The whole event - free practice, qualifying and races - will be broadcasted live on TV by Sky Sport F1 HD. (all times are local UK)
