Forne, Fontes defend their lead at Hungaroring Radical European Masters

Toni Forné and Álvaro Fontes start their third outing in the Radical European Masters at the Hungaroring and just before the summer break. After two venues, the Nurburgring and Brands Hatch, the Spanish duo leads the SR3 class with the car entered by Speed Factory Racing. Hungaroring will be a huge challenge, particularly for Fontes taking into account the particularities of the Magyar track. Although Forné has raced there in past seasons, this weekend will be his debut at the track, always a challenge for newcomers.

“I am looking forward to racing at Hungaroring, because I want to keep our lead in the series. I know it will be an arduous task because this circuit is absolutely unknown for me. Anyway I sincerely believe that my experience driving Radical cars will be of particular help”, Fontes explains, and remarking “in any case our goal is to win in Hungary, I have no doubt about this”. Similarly Forné comments “our target is clear enough: to achieve a double podium finish in order to keep leading SR3RS class. For me, unlike Álvaro, I have competed at this track before, as I was there back in 2011 and 2013. We are eying the title at the end of the season, so it is mandatory to do a good job this time”.

The first outing for the drivers with two free practice sessions scheduled at 09.00 (CET) and 14.00 (CET). On Saturday qualifying session takes place at 09.50 (CET) and their first race will shortly after noon, at 13.45. The meeting will be brought to a close on Sunday with race two at 10.45.
