Round 5: Nicky Grist Stages, 12 July

While a number of frontrunners fell victim to mechanical problems or accident damage, Roland Llewellin and co-driver Jamie Edwards kept their Subaru on the road to claim maximum points on the Nicky Grist Stages.

Alex Allingham set fastest time on the first of eight stages. Erstwhile championship leader Luke Francis was in third place behind Tom Naughton, but both retired on the next stage, leaving Allingham and co-driver Chris Williams holding a comfortable lead over Llewellin and Edwards.

Paul Davy and Roger Allen were promoted to third but a wrong tyre choice cost them and they slipped behind Wug and Max Utting. Allingham, though, was to break a ball joint on the penultimate stage, paving the way for Llewellin and Edwards.
