Australian rising star Richard Muscat will join the Porsche Carrera Cup GB to race the guest car at Snetterton (2/3 August) in rounds 10 and 11 of the championship. The GT racer will drive for Redline Racing on his championship debut.Muscat (22) from Melbourne was a successful karter from the age of nine and moved into cars in 2012 to win the Porsche 944 Challenge in Australia. In 2013 he stepped up to win the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia and in 2014 is racing in the Australian GT Championship.This summer he is spending some time in Europe in a bid to further develop his career and is racing in the 24-hours of Spa this weekend. He jumped at the chance of racing in the Carrera Cup GB at Snetterton. He tested at the Norfolk track recently and was very impressed with the latest 911 GT3 Cup.“The new Type-991 911 GT3 Cup is an amazing car and we finished the Snetterton test where I was hoping to be,” said Muscat. “I learnt a lot that I can take into the race weekend. I’d like to thank Redline Racing for looking after me: what a great team! Hopefully, we can challenge for a win at Snetterton.”
