Full entry for season finale at Shelsley Walsh

Even though the season is drawing to a close, there has been a capacity entry received for the final two meetings of the year Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb this coming weekend. (20/21st SEPT).

Deals have already been struck behind the scenes for a change of car for several drivers next year, so they may be driving somewhat cautiously at the event to preserve their current machines, but the majority of entrants will be going all out and hoping to finish the hillclimbing season in fine style.

Entitled 'Autumn Speed Finale' the two separate one-day events will see the usual mix of sports, classic, saloons and racing cars taking part, as well as nearly 30 motorcycles, with several championships reaching their final crucial stages.

Saturday will host the BARC SBD Speed Championship, The HSA Speed Championship, the SSCC Championship, the Revington TVR Championship, the Service Hydraulics Speed Championship and the Classic Marques Handicap Challenge, while Sunday will see extra classes for an entry of 11 Morgans, 13 Austin Healeys and a dozen Ferraris.

The weekend also hosts the final meeting of the Paul Matty Lotus Sports Car Championship, and sponsor Paul Matty commented: "This is my all time favourite venue so it is fitting to have the final round taking part here and its all getting very exciting with the podium places still up for grabs as the competition goes to the wire, leaving five drivers in with a chance of taking the title.

"Only one point separates the top three handicap places with Stephen Hopkins currently on top in his Lotus Elise, Grayham Parker lies second in his Elise Motorsport and Geoff Stallard takes third spot in his Elan S3.

"Husband and wife competitors Malcolm and Sarah Thorne lie only five and seven points behind respectively, so it is all still to play for and we are expecting a very competitive weekend to round off yet another fantastic championship year."

Practice and qualifying starts at 9.15am each day, with timed competition runs and fullcommentary after lunch. Tickets available on the gate.
