SSM MSA British Cadet Kart Championship

Round 6: PF International, 13-14 September

Teddy Wilson overcame some hurdles to become the 2014 MSA British Cadet Kart Champion at PF International circuit, where Alex McDade was a double Final winner.

First of all Wilson’s appeal against a one-lap penalty at the previous round was upheld, putting him back at the top of the points table. Then he fought back from a poor opening lap to lead the first final briefly, only to be pushed into a half-spin. He quickly recovered for fourth, behind winner McDade, Jonny Edgar and Tom Wood.

Wilson endured another bad first lap in the second final, dropping well behind title rival Kiern Jewiss, but he clambered up to pass him for fifth on the last lap and clinch the title. “Kiern wasn’t defending and I was faster,” said Wilson. “We’ve had a great year with a couple of wins and once the appeal was over it was all good.” McDade took his second win from Zac Robertson and Edgar.
