MSA British Long Circuit Kart Championship

Rounds 9 & 10: Snetterton, 14 September

Reigning champion Paul Platt shared the wins with Gavin Bennett at Snetterton to regain the championship lead with two rounds to go.

Platt quickly took the lead in the first race but lost it to Bennett seven laps in. However Platt regained the top spot with a move at the end of the Brabham Straight on the final lap. He almost celebrated too early, as Bennett ducked out of his slipstream and was only 0.083 seconds behind at the flag.

In race two it was once again Platt and Bennett at the front. On lap four the plug lead on Platt’s Gas Gas came off; he fixed the problem but had lost 10 seconds to his rival and dropped back into a fierce five-kart scrap. Platt was able to ease clear of the pack but couldn’t catch Bennett who ran out the winner by 11.514 seconds.
