Bruno Bonifacio takes Jerez Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS pole

Bruno Bonifacio brings back Prema on top in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS in Jerez qualify of the last season’s round. The Angelo Rosin led team driver set fastest of the International series branded by Fast Lane Promotion in 1’41.456.

“It was a perfect day – declared Bonifacio – I really like this track where I’m racing for the first time. We might have suffered for the heat, but the team did a wonderful job. We are not racing for points tomorrow but we’ll still do our best”.

Side by side with the Brazilian (racing as wild card) in Race 1 there will be the 2014 Champion Nyck de Vries, still behind the wheel of the Koiranen GP car, who managed to be the fastest in Group A. Impressive performance also from the Monaco driver Charles Leclerc, still competing for the runner-up position and for the Junior Title. The Fortec Motorsport driver will share second row with his team-mate Matt Parry, second quickest in Group A, but him too racing as wild card. Right behind them two more “guests” the two Russians Egor Orudzhev (Tech1 Racing) and Vasily Romanov (Cram Motorsport).

The other runner-up contender Matevos Isaakyan JD Motorsport follows, with the debuting Jake Hughes (Strakka Racing) on his tail.

Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS will be back on track tomorrow at 10.50, with Race 1 LIVE Web coverage on www.renaultsportitalia.it. Same for Race 2 scheduled at 15.00.
