At just 16 years and 317 days old, John Munro became the youngest ever qualifier for any British Top Twelve Run-off, while Colin Calder ended the year as champion.

On Saturday Munro finished eleventh, breaking the 1100 class record on each run, while on Sunday he managed eighth, again breaking the record twice in the process.

Mark Smith charged into the lead on Saturday, only for Craig Sampson to pip him to the win and claim his first ever victory. The Sunday event suffered from variable conditions, with heavy rain squalls and severe gales. Terry Holmes stormed through to take the win in fine style.
