The Hungarian racer, fielded by Virtuosi UK, logged a personal best laptime of 1'28"759 to take his maiden pole position, which was also the first for the British squad. The second row will feature a returning face as Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia (Zele Racing) topped German Markus Pommer (Super Nova).
At his third run of the year, Japanese Shinya Michimi, fielded by Euronova Racing, rounded out the top-5 and will be partnered in row 3 by Virtuosi UK's Andrea Roda. The rest of the grid will feature Michele La Rosa (MLR71 by Euronova), Francesco Dracone (Super Nova) and Salvatore De Plano (FMS). Angolan Luis Sa Silva (Zele Racing) was forced to sit out of the Q2 segment due to a power loss in Q1, while Kevin Giovesi (FMS) didn't take part in the session.
