Gearlink Kawasaki Update, Sunflower Trophy, Irwin Re-signs for 2015

Gearlink Kawasaki took along Ben Wilson and Glenn Irwin to compete in the Sunflower Trophy meeting in Ireland last weekend, promoted by the Hillsborough and District Motor Cycle Club Ltd. The team arrived at Bishopscourt Race Circuit, Northern Ireland, on Thursday 23rd October to a wonderful greeting from the organisers.

Friday's qualifying sessions went well in the Supersport class with Glenn 0.3 inside Sam Lowes' lap record, Ben was third fastest. Glenn qualified second fastest for the Sunflower Trophy feature race.

Glenn was totally dominant in both Supersport races, winning both, and gaining the lap record beating fellow Irishman Alastair Seeley, with Ben third in the first race and second in the second race.

Glenn was unfortunate to crash out of the Sunflower Trophy feature race on the first lap, whilst leading; he was unable to take part in the re-start. Ben was battling it out with Danny Buchan but was unable to retain his lead and finished in second place.

Ben qualified third for the Superbike races and finished second in race one race ahead of Nico Mawhinney (Q2), Danny Buchan was the eventual winner of the race. Ben took another second place in the second Superbike race ahead of Irishman Andy Reid, Danny Buchan secured another win.

Glenn also competed in the Supertwin races for VRS Kawasaki, winning both races and was awarded 'Man of the Meeting'.

Ben Wilson - "I really enjoyed being back on the little 600 and I can't thank Gearlink Kawasaki enough for giving me the chance to ride it again. We all had a great time at Bishopscourt; I have to thank Gearlink Kawasaki for the hard work put in this weekend to make sure the bikes were in pristine condition"

Glenn Irwin - "It was great way to end the season as we continued to build the momentum that we found towards the end of the BSB season."

Gearlink Kawasaki would like to say a big thank you to the organisers for an amazing race meeting and a big thank you to all the fans for their support. Also a huge thank you to the photographers for allowing me to use their photographs in this press release.

We are delighted to announce that we have re-signed Glenn Irwin to compete in The British Supersport Class for 2015.

Glenn Irwin - "I am over the moon to have re-signed to ride for Gearlink Kawasaki. I feel that we have all the ingredients to make a strong Championship challenge. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Michael and Norma plus the entire Gearlink Kawasaki team. I would also like to thank my personal sponsors for all their help and support and big thanks go to all my fans for having faith in me."
