Fonseca stays with Douglas Motorsport for Winter Championship

Mexican racer Rodrigo Fonseca will remain with Douglas Motorsport for this year’s BRDC F4 Winter Championship, which commences at Snetterton on 8-9 November.

Fonseca graduated from karting in Mexico to cars this year, and made strong progress throughout the main F4 season. He scored a best result of fourth place at Silverstone in August, and enjoyed a competitive second half of the season with regular top-six finishes.

Turning his attentions to the forthcoming Winter Championship, the Escuderia Telmex driver is aiming for regular podium finishes with the team, who won the F4 Winter Championship with Matty Graham last year.

“I’m really looking forward to racing in the Winter Championship,” Fonseca commented. “I have a full season of experience with the car and the team now so I’m optimistic of fighting for some podiums. I’m aiming to finish inside the top three of the championship and I’m confident of achieving that.”

Team Principal Wayne Douglas is optimistic that Fonseca can challenge towards the front in the eight-race championship: “Rodrigo developed very well over the course of the year and we are pleased he is remaining with us for the Winter Championship. With a full year’s experience under his belt now, and given his form in the second half of the season, I’m sure he can challenge for regular podiums.”

The BRDC F4 Winter Championship commences at Snetterton on 8-9 November, and finishes on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on 22-23 November.
