Monza Race 1Race 1 for the eighth round of the 2015 GP2 Series went underway today at Monza and Trident, with Johnny Cecotto, ended their run with the fastest lap of the race. The first run of the weekend was conditioned by a drive-through assessed to Cecotto for a jump start and by a first-lap collision that cost Raffaele Marciello several positions. They finished in P15 and P18 respectively.RAFFAELE MARCIELLO
Starting from the 9th position, Lello was off to a quick getaway that helped him regain some ground in standings. During the first lap though, he was faultlessly involved in a contact and that forced him to cut the second chicane. The incident cost him several positions and he rejoined in 15th. In the following stages, Raffaele battled hard and regained some of the positions lost before going for an early tire change to avoid traffic. Then he kept a really good pace but eventually flatspotted a tire in a defence attempt. Lello delivered a great effort in managing the vibration and end up in 15th.

Back with Trident on the fastest racetrack of the whole season, Johnny left his mark by scoring the fastest lap of the race in 1:33.723 with three laps to go. He had a consistent race and his laptimes were among the fastest on-track. Unfortunately, the Venezuelan was penalized for a jump start despite he gained no positions in the incident. The mistake jeopardized the whole outcome of the feature race for him in a day that could have provided the team with some great satisfactions. Cecotto, as well as the whole team, are already focused on tomorrow's race 2 in an effort to complete a great recovery run.Final Position: P18Position on Starting Grid: P14Tires on grid start : Hard Orange PrimeTeam's strategy
MONZA Race2/Round 8
The eighth round of the 2015 GP2 Series ended up with a great comeback by Raffaele Marciello, as the Trident team lined-up for race 2 at their home racetrack. The Italian, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and the ACI Team Italia, recovered from the 15th place up to the seventh position. Johnny Cecotto ended up in 14th place and his result was conditioned by a contact he had with another car at the beginning of the race. RAFFAELE MARCIELLO
Lello showed both consistency and determination in the shorter run of the weekend. He started at the middle of the pack and fought back to a points finish. Even more important, he proved competitive once again. That was a satisfaction for the whole team. The development work carried-on after Spa by the Italian and by his technical staff seemed to have brought them back on the right track. Everybody is already focused on the next round of the GP2 championship which will be in one month at Sochi. The team is looking forward to a further improvement in Russia in an attempt to fight for victories.

The final race of the weekend at Monza didn't reward Johnny with a well-deserved results as he was involved in a first-lap contact. After starting from the 18th position, he quickly got at least five spots back. Then a contact with the car driven by Rossi damaged his front wing which caused his car to lose performance. The Venezuelan fought hard for most part of the day although he was relegated to the 14th place.
