Official entries open this week for competitors wishing to compete in Wales Rally GB (12-15 November), the UK’s concluding round of the 2015 FIA World Rally Championship. After the huge success of recent events following a move to a new home in north Wales, another star-studded entry is guaranteed with teams from the UK and around the globe eager to contest one of the most famous and exciting events on the WRC calendar. After a final Shakedown and Ceremonial Start on Thursday, competitors will then tackle 19 timed sections held over three challenging days in the legendary Welsh forests. To encourage local teams to gain World Championship experience, the organisers are offering a significantly discounted entry fee for private British entrants. This year’s regulations allow drivers holding an MSA competition licence and a UK passport to benefit from a discounted entry fee of £1800 (inc VAT) instead of £2800, providing that they fulfil the criteria of a private entry as detailed in the regulations.

International entries open on Wednesday (9 September) and close on Monday 12 October – all those applying by the closing date are guaranteed an entry. Entries for the accompanying Network Q WRGB National Rally will open at 8am on the following day (10 September) via the on-line entry form on the official walesrallygb.com website.“Wales Rally GB is the showpiece event for the sport in the UK and we look forward to welcoming the world’s top drivers to Wales in November,” said Ben Taylor, Managing Director of Wales Rally GB. “It is important for the development of the sport in this country that we encourage as many British crews as possible to contest the international rally. We have made it easier for British drivers to benefit from a significant reduction in the entry fee and we hope they will take advantage of the opportunity to compete against the WRC regulars on the full event.”Full information can be found online via the ‘competitors’ navigation on the official www.walesrallygb.com website.
