The definitive route for the 12th Roger Albert Clark Rally has been revealed as entries open for the 27-29 November event.From a base in Sunderland, crews will tackle 150 stage miles in 20 special stages. A challenging opening leg on Friday night will be followed by two days of largely daylight rallying on Saturday and Sunday. Friday’s leg covers 40 stages miles with 60 stage miles on Saturday and a further 50 miles on Sunday.Friday evening includes the Herrington Park spectator stage and forest stages in southern Kielder. Saturday’s action starts in Herrington Park and is then based in the main block of Kielder while Sunday’s route heads into the Scottish borders. A total of 150 stage miles in just 46 hours will make the 2015 Roger Albert Clark Rally the most compact so far.The rally will return to Sunderland each evening and the city will also host scrutineering and a city centre start on Friday and the finish ceremony on Sunday evening. Spectator access will be available at the Sunderland locations and at most of the special stages.“We’re really pleased with the route and delighted to be returning to Sunderland,” said rally manager Colin Heppenstall. “We’ll have a ceremonial start in Mowbray Park in Sunderland city centre this year. We’ve got some absolutely beautiful stages,” said Heppenstall after a recent route survey. “They have all been re-graded and are well settled. Many of the roads have not been used since last year.”The entry fee has been trimmed by £100 to £1875 and Heppenstall reports strong interest from European crews.
