Demarchi debuts new 135d dual fuel at Silverstone

on full attack mode as new M1 arrives

After a sensational race win at Donington Park and two second places at Silverstone National and Snetterton (the latter following an unfortunate puncture), Luca Demarchi approaches another Sports and Touring Cars Championship event, to be held at Silverstone International.

Italian Demarchi, the only driver at the wheel of the BMW M135d dual fuel by Ecomotive Solutions entered by Saxon Motorsport, will lead team´s assault on the event at Silvestone. At the moment, Demarchi has only a three-point deficit to Great Britain´s Mike Moss, defending champion and currently leading the series.

The first events were carried out with a sort of experimental cars, but now Saxon Motorsport has already built a new M1 car with dual fuel system developed by Ecomotive Solutions. So Demarchi is determined to tackle the remaining races in full attack mode. “We have worked on an initial pilot phase so far”, Demarchi explains, “a hybrid racing car, a real challenge considering how stressful motorsport is. And we surpassed our expectations. In fact, our results are impressive! Now we eye drivers´ championship lead and Saxon Motorsport is working to give me something even better, making its best to improve engine and chassis. I´m pleased because Solutions and Autogas Italia have proved that their dual fuel system works smoothly in even the harshest of conditions: motorsport.”

“I shall have at my disposal a new M1”, Demarchi underlines, “with deep upgrades in comparison with my previous car: chassis, suspension and aerodynamic are brand-new, and now I will have a Drenth sequential gearbox. Only the engine remains the same! It is a huge motivation and I´m looking forward to starting the weekend”.

The event starts on Friday with free practice session, and then Saturday opens with warm-up in the morning and then qualifying. There are two races of 45 minutes each, with Race 2 starting grid defined by Race 1 finishing order.
