BHRC Isle of Man award winners announced

The special award winners for the sixth and seventh rounds of the 2015 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Rally Isle of Man Classicagh (17-19 September) have been announced.The ‘Spirit of the Rally’ product award from Fuchs Lubricants went to Nick Danks and Martin Corbett who battled to the finish after collecting two punctures on Thursday evening. They borrowed a spare wheel from Robin Shuttleworth to get back to service and then entertained the fans with their attacking style through Friday and Saturday as Danks celebrated his birthday weekend.Phil Harris and Jez Rogers earned the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. They started their Mini Cooper at number 112 on their first experience of the Isle of Man and duly finished 30th overall in the historic field.Guy Woodcock and Graham Dance won the ‘Hard Charger’ award of a 20-litre jerry can from Green Valley Industrial Supplies. On his first rally with BDG power, Woodcock was always battling for an overall podium finish until being forced to retire just seven miles from the end of the rally. However, he clearly showed the pace to run with the very quickest drivers.
