BHRC Trackrod award winners announced

The special award winners for the final round of the 2015 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Trackrod Historic Cup (25/26 September) have been announced. The ‘Spirit of the Rally’ product award from Fuchs Lubricants went to Simon Webster and Jez Rogers for scoring their best result to date in historic rallying. This was Webster’s first time in the dauntingly fast Yorkshire forests and they had a fabulous run to finish third overall, only headed by Steve Bannister and Nick Elliott. For Rogers, it was a second fine BHRC result in seven days following a class win on the Isle of Man alongside Phil Harris.John Midgley and Geoff Maybank earned the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. They had an excellent run in their Toyota Corolla, which included finishing second in class D2.Matthew Robinson and Sam Collis won the ‘Hard Charger’ award of a 20-litre jerry can from Green Valley Industrial Supplies. They attacked from the start and were trading times with Yorkshire legend Steve Bannister until a high-speed off in Dalby ended their rally. Typically, the incident did not damper their sense of humour.
