BRDC F4: First three new-for-2016 Tatuus-Cosworth cars delivered

Chris Dittmann Racing takes delivery of first new-for-2016 BRDC F4 cars

The first delivery of the all-new BRDC Formula 4 car was made at Bedford Autodrome on Monday (28 September), as Gloucestershire-based team Chris Dittmann Racing collected its order of three Tatuus-Cosworth machines from the championship’s headquarters.

The outfit was one of the first to commit to purchasing a trio of the 230bhp cars, which replace the Ralph Firman Racing-designed BRDC F4 car’s from the Autumn Trophy onwards, when orders were first accepted in September last year. Team Principal Chris Dittmann was given a thorough run through of all the car’s systems by the BRDC Formula 4 technical staff before completing a formal handover with MSV’s Group Operations and Engineering Manager, Giles Butterfield.

Chris Dittmann Racing has competed in each of the first three years of BRDC F4, taking numerous race wins with both Tom Jackson and Omar Ismail in 2015, with Jackson finishing third overall in this year’s standings.

Chris Dittmann said: "It is fantastic to pick up our new cars, especially with it being the first three. They look great and we are confident we will be moving forward quickly with them as we have a full development and testing programme planned. We will complete a shakedown next week and quickly after that, will be testing on-track to improve on the base set-up of the cars.”

Further orders of the Tatuus-Cosworth MSV F4-016 will be fulfilled in the next week as preparations ramp up ahead of the first round of the 2015 Autumn Trophy on November 7/8 at Snetterton, when the new car makes its race debut.
